Insieme unisce l’amore incondizionato di una madre e la determinazione di una figlia desiderosa di ristabilire un legame materno, cercando di mettere da parte suo fratello, oggetto di sentimenti contrastanti. Isabella ha sempre rifiutato l’idea che suo figlio potesse essere considerato diverso dagli altri ed ha fatto di tutto per proteggerlo. Michele diventa quindi la sua ragione di vita e la sua forza, mentre Sandra ha vissuto la sua infanzia cercando di non essere un fastidio per sua madre, provando spesso la sensazione di sentirsi esclusa dal “nucleo” familiare.
